Managed your Web Blog is not an easier as you might think. A lot of works behind the screen need to be done in order to make your Web Blog looks perfect and secure. On previous topic I have introduced the article of “Creating Web Blog (Part 1 & Part 2)” and some basic plugins you should have in your web blog. In this topic, I will introduce how to make your Web Blog look more professional and some advance plugin you should have.

1. Registering to Gravatars

What is Gravatars? Gravatars are Globally Recognized Avatars. An avatar or gravatar is an icon, or representation, of a user in a shared virtual reality, such as a forum, chat, website, or any other form of online community in which the user(s) wish to have something to distinguish themselves from other users.

To make it simple, when you are replying your commentator’s message, if you have already registered as a Gravatar’s member, your avatar will be shown instead of default avatar logo. Same goes to your commentators. Click here to register yourself a “Gravatars” account.

What is Contact Form? Contact Form is a script that you can run on your website that will allow others to send you email through a web interface. 3. Shortening Your Long Articles

If you have a very long article, let say 1500 or more word count. It is recommended to make it shorter by using this <!–more–> coding in HTML mode as show in the picture. Input the command into the paragraph you wish to start shortening. Do remember to save after completed the coding input.

4. Display Your Popular Posts

Why displaying your Popular Post is important? Of course displaying your popular post can make attraction to your readers if you have written a good article. And this could be makes your readers have a confidence subscribe to your Web Blog or to be your unique readers. Indirectly bring up your site traffic. 5. Registering to FeedBurner

What is Feedburner? FeedBurner is a web feed management provider. They provided custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers and other web-based content publishers. You can use the management tool provided such as “Analyze”, “Optimize” and “Publicize” to manipulate your Web Blog feeds activities. The “Pages” I mention here are contains of “About Me”, “Contact Me” etc. You might be curious why WordPress application allow a Comment to be posted in your “Pages” if you do not want to. Here I have solution for you how to disable Comments in your “Pages”.

1. Sign-in to your WordPress admin.

2. Hover to the “Appearance” on left side bar then select “Editor”.

3. From the right side bar, select “Main Index Template (index.php)”.

4. Pointing and click your cursor in “Index.php” template box, from the keyboard press “Ctrl+F” to find below script:-

I have come across this two Web Blog named as Gloson Blog & TexhXav since July 2009. Both Web Blog bloggers has bring up fantastic and great articles to the world. The number of visitors to these blogs has increase dramatically in past one year although it is consider very fresh in World Wide Web. They are all young and talent teenagers, makes it as an extraordinary. Below are my reviewed about Gloson Blog and TexhXav Blog.

Gloson Blog

GlosonBlog.com was founded in July 2008 and managed by a Malaysian 11 year old kid, Gloson Teh. In his Web Blog tags line has indicated “Social Media, Blogging, and Tech Tips from a Kid”. In the other words, he’s sharing his learning knowledge in his Web Blog. In his articles was covering Blogging Tips, How To’s… Computer Web / Applications Tips and his hobbies related to Photography, Cat’s and etc. GlosonBlog.com has the averaging of 500 daily unique visitors and over 2,000 RSS subscribers.

Beside, Gloson Teh has very high interest in writing funnies poem and has published his first book named “Creative & Funny Poetry for Kids” in June 2009. He also enlisted in the Malaysia Book of Record as the youngest published poet in Malaysia on 09th September 2009. Now he is well know by Malaysian and as well as overseas.

In my point of view, GlosonBlog.com has expressed good blogging point and review information to the blogger. Beside, the How To’s… tips has gradually attract public who want to know more in some web stuffs or an applications. A lot people can’t believe the article was actually written by a 11 years old kid (including me). TechXav.com (former knows as KidTechGuru.blogspot.com) was founded in mid 2008 by a Singaporean teenage, Xavier Lur and managed by a group of young and adroit teenage between the ages of 14-15. The articles in TechXav related to technology, especially what’s new on the web. For example, reviewing of Web 2.0 apps, start-ups, publish breaking news and sharing opinions and thoughts with adults all over the world. Each of TechXav.com bloggers has different career goals in their minds. They are aspired to become professional tech bloggers, web entrepreneurs, computer engineers or financial investors.

In my point of view, TechXav.com has performed an outstanding review about Web and all sort of Technology around the world. I would rate and mark TechXav.com as a “one stop station” for those who exhausted hunting for the latest Information Technology. Although you have successful registered and setting up your blog, you may wonder why your Web Address couldn’t found in most popular Google or Yahoo search engine. Here I guide you how to make your blog searchable in Google and Yahoo.

Google and Yahoo has designed and offering searching tool to help and promoting your blog. Your blog title, contents or even your blog picture can be crawl and indexing by both search engines. This will definitely increase traffic to your blog and connect your blog with your visitors.

Registering to Google Webmaster Central is pretty easy. Condition is you must have a valid Gmail Account.
1. Click on the Google Webmaster logo above.
2. Hover your mouse to “Add a Site” and input your Website/URL.
3. The page will redirect you to “Dashboard”.
4. You are advise get your site “Verified” by using the provided “Meta Tag”.
5. If you are using WordPress, paste the “Meta Tag” into “Appearance > Editor > header.php”

Registering to Yahoo Site Explorer is pretty easy too. Condition is you must have a valid Yahoo Account. Simple adding your Web Address will do. If you would like your site to be authenticated, you may follow instruction to get your blog verified.

Conclusion
Of course Google or Yahoo search engine cannot guarantee your site will be at their top searching list. However in some conditions, your blog post could be in their top list. It’s all depending to your blog contents to determine. Happy trying!

What is Cache?

To make it simple, Cache is a temporary place to keep a copy of information for faster retrieval on the second request of information. All kind of travel record of the items you have seen, heard or download from the Web, including images, sounds, Web pages, even cookies, will be download into Temporary Internet Files folder in your local hard drive.

Can the Cache Cause Devastation Your Web Blog?

In my own terms, a browser has the ability to read already-viewed files from the cache rather than take a time to download the same page from the Web. The more files loaded into your hard disk, the faster your browsing speed.

Form this point of view, browser take advantage to reload your previous setting such as Blog Post, Plugins, Enhancement, whenever you login to Web for development. All your newly Blog Post, Plugins and Enhancement will be gone in a second. I believed this happen due to subsequent requests and certain condition are met.

Another issue rising up was, whenever you have completed the site update and the site is not displaying what actually it is, displaying error message and some wacky things happening. Most probably it is due to an outdated or corrupted copy of information in the cache.

Precaution and Advisory

A Malware could be hidden in your cache for virus spreading, spam or even stealing your PC information. Always perform a cache clean up for a fresh spanking new form and function. Understanding the simple concept of cache will benefit you and bring hassle free.
