Registering to Google Webmaster Central is pretty easy. Condition is you must have a valid Gmail Account.
1. Click on the Google Webmaster logo above.
2. Hover your mouse to “Add a Site” and input your Website/URL.
3. The page will redirect you to “Dashboard”.
4. You are advise get your site “Verified” by using the provided “Meta Tag”.

Yup, this is just a basic. There is another SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tools, will generate more traffic to your site but it could be banned by Google or Yahoo.
Yeah I can vouch for this working. I was having issues with getting one of my blogs – http://www.mightyvendor.com indexed. I signed up for google webmaster central and it was indexed within 24 hours. I didn’t know about the yahoo one however, and will now do that.
